PAIN Mode Changelog


Visual tweaks to existing content:

-Revamped character portrait, dynamically changes.

-Updated character sprites, which also dynamically change.

-Changed the Flytraps to a teal-green color, partly to make them less visible, but mostly so that people stop calling them bear traps.

-Eye spiders' character sprites now look less like shit.

-Gardener's Character sprites now look less like shit.

-All character sprites now bob up and down while walking.

-Game icon is now more visible and also looks less like shit.

-New state/item icons that are more accurate to their appearance/function in game.


Bug Fixes/tweaks:

-Fixed the block scrape sound effect not lining up with the animation.

-Fixed a bug in the stupid pumpkin room wherein one (1)  single pumpkin would appear broken whenever any pumpkin bomb in the room would explode.

-Fixed a bug in the blue area right after the key wherein the game would become softlocked after exiting the room.

-Fixed a "bug" in the blue area right after the key wherein several flytraps would not get crushed correctly. I've known about this for a while honestly I just didn't wanna fix it.

-Fixed a bug with certain actions that would make GOD angry. Previously god favor would be subtracted by -1, which would INCREASE god favor, making DeathSigil! trivial to obtain. I can't believe I didn't catch this and nobody else did.

-Inland empire has been slightly tweaked a bit when upgrading.

-Deathsigil! is harder to obtain flowerless, even without using the aforementioned glitch.

-Deathsigil! has been nerfed significantly. It still has an absurd damage multiplier, albeit slightly less so. It costs more Sanity and is less effective against certain enemies.

-Fixed the block and vases blocking the doorways in the glove/hammer rooms disappearing after using the GOD relic.


New content:

-Marker drawings now give Marin bonus effects.

-The Flesh Eaters now have PAIN mode exclusive dialogue.

-Brain Cells actually have  a use now! Several uses, in fact.

-Upgrading speed twice increases speed outside of battle.

-The "lucky" state from upgrading luck now stacks twice.

-Pain mode! Changes nearly every room in the game and includes a new final boss.

-Added "Fallen Travesty" Marin, automatically obtained when starting on Hard mode and under certain conditions.

-Added "Fucking Loser" Marin, obtained under certain conditions.

-New higher/lesser? being can be accessed under certain conditions.

-New enemies "Broken Gardener" and "Pumpkin Spider" have been added.

-Re-added the stupid flytrap room to hard mode only (iykyk)

-Added "The Pills!" Easily available to obtain in pain mode, but can also be obtained in easy mode a few ways.

-Added "DestructSigil"

-Added "Dung"

-Added a new final area for the pain mode ending.

-Added a new final boss.

-Added 5 new endings, 1 in Normal mode and 3 in PAIN mode. There is  now an "alternate path" to the game as well.

-Added "RED KEY"

-Added RedRoomLounge and a unique intractable NPC.

-Added "CorpseHeart"

-Added "PureRot"
